OFFICIAL: Inter Says Goodbye to Leonardo

In a statement released on the club's official website, Inter has officially waved goodbye to former manager, Leonardo:

"They were intense months with the success of the Coppa Italia as the final satisfaction. Inter and Leonardo have amicably resolved the contract, but - beyond the bureaucratic formulas of these cases - there remains strong esteem and complete respect to a person who was able to begin and constantly recover on the field. The president Massimo Moratti and the whole club, thank him for our time together, a great 'good luck' wish to Leonardo for the continuation of his career."

Agent of Santon & Viviano: "Happy to stay at Inter."

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Calciomercato.it, Renzo Contratto, agent of both Davide Santon and Emiliano Viviano, gave a few words about the players' situations: "Viviano has ended up at a great club and is happy to be a part of it. Roma and Arsenal? We are at the beginning of July, the market is just starting, we'll see how the situations evolve." Calciomercato.it also questioned whether being a starting keeper was important in order to make the National Team and Contratto seemed optimistic about the situation: "As Emiliano has said, we trust Inter. Let's see what happens."

Another player that has expressed his desire for more playing time is Nerazzurri defender, Davide Santon. Along with a move to Roma, like the rumors surrounding Viviano, the Inter youngster may have another loan option: "After the loan with Cesena, he has returned to be 100% an Inter player. He will definitely begin preseason with the Nerazzurri and they may very well keep him." After his explanation, the agent gave his final words on Viviano: "He is very happy to be in a great team, we'll see what has between now and late August."

Palacio to Inter, Pandev or Viviano to Genoa

The meeting between Inter and Genoa for Argentine attacker Rodrigo Palacio is now complete. "Goodbye", was the only thing uttered by Genoa president Enrico Preziosi at the end of the hour and a half meeting at the Inter headquarters. Sky also tried to speak with Inter president Massimo Moratti on his way out of his Saras office, but he too preferred to remain silent.

Another meeting is scheduled this afternoon, this time it will include the Nerazzurri president. The feeling is that the deal for Palacio is just about complete because Preziosi was joined by the player's agents and also two other Genoa officers, Capozucca and Zarbano, the men in charge of signatures. The latest news reported by Sky is that Mariga will no longer be included in the deal and the new name emerging is Emiliano Viviano, even though Inter is still trying to convince Genoa to take Goran Pandev. The reason for the switch is because Gasperini is very fond of Mariga and would like to keep him at Inter. Today could be the day that the deal closes, Palacio is extremely close to Inter. Meanwhile there was also talk about Kharja, currently at Genoa, making a possible return to Inter.

Udinese D.S.: "Inter want Sanchez, but the price has risen, it will be difficult for them."

Fabrizio Larini, Sporting Director of Udinese, has spoken about the possibility of Sanchez joining Inter, an idea that has become more and more distant in the coming days. FC Inter News was live at Castiglioncello to capture Larini's statement: "Inter asked about the player in January, but we never began negotiations because we wanted to keep the player until June," said Larini. "At that point there was an evaluation of the player which has since changed, and now it has become difficult for the Nerazzurri. They also offered players in the negotiations, but there are other clubs who are currently ahead. There are no definitive agreements. We do not need to sell the striker who is growing and can do even better. If we cannot reach an agreement, however, we will be happy."

OFFICIAL: Nagatomo is 100% Inter!

It is finally official, Yuto Nagatomo belongs 100% to Inter. In a statement released on Cesena's official web site, details were given on the transfer of the Japanese defender. Nagatomo joins Inter on a permanent basis and in exchange, Cesena receives the co-ownership of Luca Caldirola and Luca Garritano, both from Inter's youth system. Both players will remain at Inter for the 2011/12 season.

Liverpool Miss Out on Clichy, Chivu Next on the List

The latest news swirling around in England has included Inter in the mix. Nerazzurri defender Cristian Chivu, whose contract expires in 2012 (with no negotiations being held yet), may have been targeted by Liverpool, who are in desperate need of a defender. The first name on the wish list of Kenny Dalglish was Arsenal's Gael Clichy, but it seems the Frenchman will be pushed to Manchester City, who are prepared to offer Kolarov in exchange. This has caused Dalglish to direct his attention to the second name on the list, Cristian Chivu.

Becali, the Romanian's agent, said no less than two days ago, "he will not move from Inter." However it remains to be seen what the club's position is on the defender, as Inter have still not sent any proposals for the renewal of Chivu's contract.
